Abstract
|
|
|
A study of immunity (immunology) originated as a branch of bacteriology around the end of the 19th century. However, owing to its rapid and enormous developments accomplished during the last 3 decades, immunology now occupies the very center of all of biological sciences.
In this communication a periscopic review was made on 1) the background of foundation of immunology, 2) major contributions of immunology before the era of modern immunology, and 3) the immunobiology of the present.
